I’ve recently switched from Linux over to enjoying Fortnite with friends, but now we’re looking to migrate to playing League of Legends. I remember a while back when I was using Arch that I managed to run League through Heroic Games with a specific version of Wine, although it wasn’t a great experience. So, I’m curious—does League of Legends still function on Linux? Just to clarify, I know dual booting is an option since I’ve done it before, but I prefer to keep my setup simple with just one OS.

Honestly, it might be a blessing in disguise. I’ve had my share of addiction with LoL—it wasn’t fun anymore. You might find more enjoyment in Dota instead; once you get the hang of it, it’s a much more rewarding experience!
Unfortunately, League of Legends really isn’t playable on Linux anymore, mainly due to Riot’s anti-cheat measures that really complicated things for us Linux users.
Yeah, I heard that their kernel-level anti-cheat makes it pretty much impossible to run on any non-Windows OS.
There was a time when League worked on Linux, but Riot made it clear they’re not interested in supporting Linux gamers. If you’re looking for alternatives, give Dota a shot!
Totally agree! Dota really has depth, and the community is different too.
