I’m curious about how LAN connections work for gaming. I think it involves using a LAN cable to link two computers directly, which allows them to communicate without needing the Internet. I’d like to play a game that supports LAN multiplayer between my Steam Deck and my PC. Is that possible, and what steps do I need to take to set it up?

LAN multiplayer has become pretty rare for recent games, but it sounds like you’re in luck with your modded game that has LAN support! You’ll be all set. Just make sure both your devices are connected properly, and you should be good to go!
You don’t necessarily have to use a LAN cable between the two devices. If both your Steam Deck and PC are connected to the same router, they’ll already be on the same local network and can find each other easily.
Oh awesome thanks! How would I set up the actual connection?
