A friend gifted me a month of PS Plus Premium and I’m curious about what happens to a game I buy while I’m subscribed. If I purchase a game at a discount through the subscription, will I still have access to it once my subscription expires? I know free games are off-limits after the month, but I’m specifically asking about the ones I bought.

Unfortunately, if you didn’t actually buy the game outright and just played it through Plus, you’ll lose it once your subscription expires.
Just think of it this way: if you buy a game at a discount, it’s yours. But if you simply download a game for free through the subscription, you lose that access once the subscription ends.
If you bought the game separately and not as part of the PS Plus catalogue, you should still be able to play it even after your subscription ends, as long as it doesn’t require PS Plus to play it. But if you only downloaded it through the premium service, you’ll lose access once your month is up.
Yes, if you paid for a game through the subscription, it’s yours to keep! However, if you only downloaded a game for free through Plus, you won’t be able to access it once your subscription expires.
Thanks! That makes sense. I just wanted to clarify and not get mixed up with the free games.
