I recently completed Resident Evil 2 and loved the story and gameplay. I’m eager to continue with the series, but I’m not particularly interested in playing Resident Evil 3. I’d much rather dive straight into RE4 to follow Leon and Ada’s journey again. My main question is, if I skip RE3, will I miss out on any important lore or story connections when I start playing RE4?

If you’ve finished Resident Evil 2, you’ll be good to go with RE4! The storyline from RE3 doesn’t really come into play much for understanding RE4, so you won’t miss anything crucial by skipping it.
You won’t really miss out on anything. RE4 is more about continuing Leon’s character from RE2, so you’re safe to skip RE3 if it doesn’t interest you. Just dive in!
You’d be perfectly fine starting with RE4 after playing RE2. If you’re still worried, you could always skim through a wiki for a quick refresher on any key points from RE3.
Honestly, while RE3 has its moments, it doesn’t add any significant context to RE4 that you wouldn’t already get from RE2. So, jumping straight into 4 is totally fine! You’ll follow Leon’s story just fine.
