I’m thinking about gaming on a Linux setup using my older Intel 3rd generation Pentium dual-core CPU. I’ve managed to play games released before 2012 like Assassin’s Creed II and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on Windows 10 at low to medium settings. However, I’m curious if I can achieve similar results with Wine or Proton on Linux. Any insights would be appreciated!

You can generally expect the same gameplay performance on Linux as you got on Windows, at least for older games. Just don’t expect any magical improvements; Wine doesn’t really give you a boost performance-wise.
