I got invited to a Minecraft server, but they plan to add some mods. I’m not a fan of mods and prefer to stick to the original version of the game for personal reasons. If they do go ahead and add these mods, can I disable them on my end so they don’t affect my gameplay? Thanks in advance!

It really comes down to the specific mods being used. Some may require you to have them installed to connect, and if they add new items or blocks, you’ll need them too or you may run into issues getting into the game at all. Just a heads up—modded servers check if you have the right mods installed before letting you in, so it’s tricky when it comes to avoiding changes entirely.
Most server mods can’t be disabled from your side. If the server is using mods, they generally have to be on your client for you to join the server. That being said, it really depends on what the mods are doing. If they’re just content changes, you might have to deal with it unless you skip certain elements of gameplay.
Damn, I was afraid of that. Thanks for the info!
To be fair, if some of them are new creatures/materials, I was going to avoid those items and just stick to the vanilla stuff anyway.
