Hey everyone! I recently spilled some liquid on my Steam Deck, which gave me the perfect excuse to upgrade to the OLED version. My old deck still powers on, but the display is completely non-functional. I’m wondering if there’s any way to stream or display the screen onto a tablet without needing the Steam Link app, since I can’t access it without a working screen. Any suggestions?

You could connect the Steam Deck to an external monitor or screen directly! Just use an HDMI dongle or, if you have the right cable, plug directly into the DisplayPort. That way, you can see your screen without needing Steam Link at all.
The Steam Deck’s USB Type C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, which means you can directly connect it to a monitor using a compatible USB-C cable (it needs to be v3.2 or higher). If you’re looking to connect it to a tablet, that might not work since most tablets aren’t set up to act as monitors. You might want to check if your tablet has that capability or look into an actual portable monitor instead.
Thanks for the info! So, you’re saying I should look for an actual monitor that’s about the same size as a tablet for this purpose?
