I have a 500gb PS4 and I am constantly running out of space. It is really annoying that a full 50GB game needs to be installed to the hard drive before It can be played. Is there a way to play a game directly from the disc without having to install it to the HDD. I don’t mind if it makes the game load slower so long as it will let me play the game without needing to waste space on my hard drive.

The read speed of blu ray drives has increased a lot over the years, but it still is not that fast. The read speed of a hard drive is incredibly fast in comparison. I’m not sure modern games could function correctly if they were not installed to the hard drive. Anyway, it is not possible to play PS4 games without installing them to the hard drive and likely never will be possible. It would cause a lot of technical issues with the game if it were possible.
