I can’t get this scene out of my head from what I think is an old RPG game. It’s got this girl character and the main protagonist standing on the edge of a cliff. She talks about their journey together and drops a line like, “You probably hate me by now,” giving the player the choice to respond with yes or no. If you say yes, she gets defensive and the scene ends. It’s probably a 2D pixel art game, and I’ve been searching for it everywhere, but I can’t find any info. My friends are stumped too. Can anyone help me jog my memory?

I’ve seen a similar scene in the anime Fuufu Ijou, Koibito Miman. It sounds like what you’re describing, but I’m not sure if it’s from a game or an anime.
Could it be from Atelier Iris? The situation rings a bell, but I’m not entirely convinced. It’s quite a long game though, so some details might be foggy.
What about the scene under the Highwind in FF7 with Cloud and Tifa? It also captures that emotional vibe.
That scene sounds a bit like Kid from Chrono Cross! It’s a classic JRPG, but I know it’s in 3D, so I’m not sure if that fits your memory since you mentioned it might be a 2D game.
Yeah, I thought of that too, but I don’t think it was anything 3D. Maybe I should clarify that.
You might wanna look into Bahamut Lagoon. It’s an older game with that pixel art style and some emotional story moments.
I checked it out, but it didn’t jog my memory. However, I appreciate the suggestion!
