Hey folks, I’m really in a bind here. After a power outage earlier today while my PC was running, I’ve been struggling with booting up my Windows 10/11. My surge protector didn’t prevent the shutdown, and now the Windows loading screen just spins indefinitely. I even tried to use a bootable USB drive, but it encounters the same endless spinning problem. Here’s a quick rundown of my system:
– **CPU:** 7950X3D
– **Motherboard:** MSI Tomahawk B650 WiFi
– **RAM:** GSkill Trident 2x32GB 6000MHz
– **Storage:** Samsung 980 PRO 1TB NVMe
– **GPU:** MSI 4090 Gaming Trio
I’ve tried creating bootable USB drives for both Windows 10 and Windows 11, with mixed results. The Windows 11 boot USB eventually gives a black screen after a minute. I’ve toggled Secure Boot, factory reset the BIOS, reseated my RAM, and even run a Memtest. Yet each time I attempt to boot, whether from USB or a normal startup, I hit the same wall of endless spinning. Any suggestions, even the wildest ones, would be greatly appreciated!

Have you thought about booting from a Linux USB? Sometimes Windows just doesn’t cooperate, and trying another OS can help you figure out if the issue is with Windows or something else in your system. If it boots successfully, you might at least gain access to your files and can start troubleshooting from there.
I haven’t tried Linux yet. But even if it does boot, I’m worried about what to do next. My real issue is not being able to boot the Windows installer to set up a fresh system. I’m just looking for a way to get past this boot issue!
