I’m trying to figure out the best ways to effectively use Ascendant Alloys and Exotic Ciphers in my gameplay. I’ve hit a roadblock since I can’t reset my rank on Xur. Any tips would be appreciated!

Ascendant Alloys are great for crafting or upgrading weapons to enhance their perks. So, if you have any favorite weapons in your vault, that’s a perfect use for them. As for Exotic Ciphers, you can unlock new exotic items either from Rahool or from the Monument of Lost Light. If you hit the max energy on your exotic armor, you can also snag an extra mod slot with a Cipher. If you really don’t have anything to spend them on, don’t sweat it; you can dismantle them one at a time without losing your entire stack.
Definitely use those Exotic Ciphers on your exotic armors instead of breaking them down. They’re pretty rare, and applying them for an artifice armor slot can really boost your build. You’ll want to focus on those three stats to hit higher tiers in your gameplay. If you’re struggling to find enhanceable weapons, you might consider farming some public events or strikes for drops.
Ascendant Alloys are primarily about enhancing perks on crafted weapons or any weapons you have in your inventory that can be upgraded. So just pick a weapon you really like and give it a couple of those Alloys. If you’re looking to maximize your exotics, those Ciphers can help you pick up new rolls from Rahool or even focus an exotic you already own. And hey, if they’re not doing it for you, you could always toss a single Alloy to reset. Just be aware that it might feel a bit wasteful!
