Hey everyone! I’ve just come back to World of Warships after a couple of years away and I’m trying to catch up fast. One thing I’m really curious about is the best way to get steel quickly. I know it’s tied to competitive modes and can be slow to earn. Are there any solid tips or strategies for farming steel faster without spending tons of money? Appreciate any advice!

Honestly, steel is mostly locked behind competitive modes, so there’s no super quick way to farm it casually. The fastest earners are Clan Battles since they reward the most steel consistently. Ranked battles give you some too, but it’s a lot less. If you’re in a clan, don’t forget the 10% clan bonus which boosts the steel you get from those modes.
At the end of the day, earning steel quickly means committing to competitive modes, especially Clan Battles and Ranked. Apart from that, don’t expect to get it fast without paying or grinding hard. Just keep playing, focus on getting better in those modes, and make use of event rewards to stack up steel steadily.
There’s also the Dockyard mode going on right now which gives you a chance to earn steel through missions. If you’re really impatient and don’t mind spending, you can basically buy the Blücher ship with real money and then do its missions to get around 250 steel per stage, totaling roughly 5k steel. It’s the fastest way but pretty pricey and not something I’d normally recommend unless you’re cool with wheeling it.
If you want to speed it up a bit, playing Ranked is a decent alternative since you get steady steel rewards there as well. It’s a slower trickle compared to Clan Battles, but it’s more accessible if you don’t want to commit to clan play. Also, the monthly Event Pass dishes out some steel too, so don’t ignore that!
Ah right, I hadn’t thought about the clan bonus, definitely gonna make sure I’m in one now to help with steel farming.
