Best Ways to Get Fish Finder Parts Faster in Expert Mode?

-

Hey everyone! I’m new to Terraria and have been grinding fishing quests for what feels like forever, but I still haven’t gotten a single part of the Fish Finder. It’s really frustrating and slowing down my progress. I’m playing in Expert mode, so no Journey Mode cheats, please. Any tips or tricks to speed up getting the Fish Finder would be awesome! Thanks!

If you really want to speed things up, try this: Create a new world and find the Angler there. Build his house close to his quest fish spawn spots and set up some chests. Use a character with strong fishing gear to catch the quest fish, then store them in chests. Once you have a bunch, make new characters, join the world, and turn in the quest fish to the Angler one by one. This way you’ll rack up completed quests faster and increase your chance of getting Fish Finder parts since chances improve with more quests done.

Getting the Fish Finder can feel brutal, especially in Expert mode since you can’t cheese it. One thing that helps is setting up the Angler’s house in the ocean biome near where his quest fish spawn. Having NPCs nearby that he likes will boost his happiness, which increases your rare drop rates. Also, if you’re open to it, you can save your game right before turning in a quest fish and reload if you don’t get a part. Just make sure autosave is off or you might lose progress! This save-scumming method actually helps since your chances get better the more quests you complete rather than starting fresh each time.

What worked for me was kinda grinding day by day while making time go faster. I put a bed in the Angler’s house and napped to advance to the next day, then fished for his quests. To pass the time, I just watched some YouTube and paused occasionally to fish. When you have high fishing power, you’ll be able to get the quest fish pretty quickly on each try, so it feels less tedious. Definitely not the fastest method, but it helped keep the boredom away!

I hear you, angler quests can be a grind. My suggestion is to boost your fishing power as much as possible first since better gear means you’ll catch quest fish faster, which overall speeds things up. Also, when you’re waiting for the next day or quest, you can put the quest fish in a chest and keep fishing daily. It takes some patience, but over time you’ll get those parts. Avoid mods or cheats if you want to keep it legit though!
