I’m trying to set up emulation on my Steam Deck for games from PS3, PS2, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 64, and Super Nintendo. Most guides I find online seem outdated, and although some people say it’s easy to do, it feels kinda confusing to me. Can someone explain the best way to get started with emulators on the Steam Deck and maybe recommend tools or methods that work well today?

Honestly, not much has really changed from older guides. The easiest way to get started is by using EmuDeck. It’s a tool that automates installing and configuring emulators for you on the Steam Deck. Alternatively, you can just grab individual emulators from the Discover store on the device, but EmuDeck simplifies the whole process a lot. The only ones that have had recent major updates are emulators like Yuzu for Nintendo Switch due to legal stuff, but your main consoles should work fine with standard emulators.

Thanks! Do you know if there’s any major difference between getting emulators from EmuDeck versus straight from the Discover store? Also, any tips on streaming a PS5 to the Steam Deck? The usual app that everyone mentions seems unavailable now.
