I’ve been using five pieces of Arms Keeper armor with three-star mods for quite some time, which gives me a whopping 90% weight reduction on weapons, food, drinks, and chems. Additionally, I’ve got Rank 2 perks in Traveling Pharmacy and Thru Hiker. However, the endurance perk column is getting crowded, and I’m looking for some feedback on my new setup calculations to make them more efficient.
With the assumption that the bug in the Arms Keeper perk is fixed (bringing it down to a 75% reduction for Rank 2), here’s my new plan:
– Switching to Arms Keeper Rank 1 (50% weapon reduction)
– Traveling Pharmacy Rank 1 (45% chem reduction)
– Thru Hiker Rank 1 (45% food and drink reduction)
Along with my armor mods:
– 2x Arms Keeper (40% each)
– 2x Thru Hiker (40% each)
– 1x Pack Rat (20%)
This setup gives me one extra perk point and a 20% reduction in junk weight, trading off a 5% reduction on food, drink, and chems. Does this seem worth it to you? What other setups might yield better results?

If you’re a heavy gunner with multiple weapons, the Arms Keeper may be more beneficial than Thru Hiker. For other builds, Thru Hiker definitely wins out.
It sounds like a solid plan! The Thru Hikers 3-star armor mod is great since it reduces weight for both food/water and chems, so you might not miss the extra reduction too much. I’d stick with your current strategy if it suits your playstyle.
Exactly! Thru Hikers are really versatile, especially if you carry a lot of consumables.
I prefer running all five pieces of Thru Hiker armor; it just suits my builds better. Sometimes I swap a strength perk for Pack Rat when going for fast travel. This way, I get to carry more junk without readily resorting to packing heavier weapons.
But doesn’t that limit your Arms Keeper to a 75% reduction? Seems like a trade-off.
I’ve had good luck with 2 Arms Keepers and 3 Pack Rat perks. It balances weight reduction pretty well without feeling too heavy, and I can easily maintain a carry weight around 490. Just make sure to manage your chems—those can sneak up on you!
And how do you handle carrying a lot of chems though?
When the fix for Arms Keepers drops, I’m considering going with 4 Thru Hiker and 1 Arms Keeper, using the Rank 2 perk card. Sure, I lose a bit in food/chem reduction, but I can streamline other endurance perks, which might make it worthwhile. It all comes down to how much you travel and engage in battles—find what works for you!
That’s the tough part. Consolidating perks seems like a good strategy, but it’s hard to know until you try it out for a while.
True! Carrying many extra guns can weigh you down, so having the max reduction is key!
