Hey everyone! I used to main a Magicka Templar back on PlayStation, but now I’m back in the game with a new character on Xbox. I started as a Sorcerer focusing on a build that doesn’t rely on class skills, and I’ve really missed the Templar playstyle. With subclassing coming to console soon, I’m planning to invest in the Aedric Spear skill tree. For those of you who have tried subclassing on PC, I’d love to hear your thoughts on which skill lines work best with Aedric Spear. Should I keep some Sorcerer skills? I’m aiming for a solo PvE build and not really into PvP.

Storm Calling meshes well with Aedric Spear, making your playstyle feel fast and fluid. I personally enjoy the Dark Magic line over Summoning since Crystal Frags can really ramp up damage. If you’re adding a second subclass, consider Assassination for that burst potential or even Shadow for some mob skipping.
A solid choice for your build would be to mix Aedric Spear with the Assassination line and either Storm Calling or Herald of the Tome. Assassination is great for DPS, and the crit surge from Storm Calling can really keep you alive, whether solo or in groups. It’s a game-changer!
I hadn’t thought about using Storm Calling, but it does sound like a solid fit for that flashy playstyle!
If you’re looking for a good combo, try Aedric Spear with Assassination and Herald of the Tome. I had success running them together, especially getting some strong burst damage. Jabs are great for spam, and Killer’s Blade works well for executes!
That’s pretty powerful! I’m using a Mag Templar with a similar setup and it’s been working out great for me!
Another great option is Aedric with Dawn’s Wrath and Storm Calling. I’ve had great success with that combo! Plus, there are tons of cool abilities in Storm that really complement the spear.
Nice breakdown! That’s similar to my setup, but I like sticking with classic Aedric Spear and Dawn’s Wrath for that immersive feel. Plus, adding Storm Calling gives you that cool lightning theme!
