Hey everyone! I’ve been traveling quite a bit lately and am in need of a gaming laptop that can handle World of Warcraft without overheating or having a short battery life. I’d love to hear your recommendations on what specs I should look for or any specific laptops you currently use for WoW. Just a heads up, I’m not the most tech-savvy person, so I appreciate any advice! Thanks a lot!

Honestly, if you want a laptop that lasts longer on battery, consider a MacBook Pro. They have a better architecture for efficiency, and WoW runs pretty well on them. If you’re leaning towards Windows, the ASUS Zephyrus G14 or G16 have great battery life compared to other gaming laptops, especially with some optimizations, but again, being plugged in is the best way to go.
I’m currently using a Lenovo laptop with a Ryzen 4600 and Nvidia 1650. It does a great job for everything except the really intensive mythic raiding and large battlegrounds. It might be worth checking out something similar if you’re looking for a balance between performance and price.
When considering a gaming laptop for WoW, make sure to focus on the CPU since WoW is pretty CPU-intensive. It’s crucial to get a solid processor to run the game smoothly. Also, keep in mind that if you’re playing on battery, you’re likely to experience significant throttling, so it’s better to keep it plugged in when possible.
Yeah, totally agree! Most gaming laptops will only give you around 2 hours of play on battery, so don’t get your hopes too high.
What’s your budget? If you don’t specify, people might suggest some really high-end options. Like, for instance, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 is amazing for WoW but it’s pretty pricey, ranging between 2.5-7k€! A solid CPU will help gaming laptops cool down better and improve battery life too.
Good point about getting specifics! Otherwise, you might end up with a recommendation that’s way out of your price range.
I’ve heard mixed reviews about the G14, especially about its thermal management, so definitely consider that.
