My niece has been super curious about gaming while watching me play on my Xbox. She’s always requesting to try out ‘minecrat’ (Minecraft) and those ‘sprunki’ games on Roblox, but I think using both joysticks at her age is a bit much. Her tiny hands struggle with the controller too! I taught myself to game when I was younger, and it felt easier back in the day. She’s autistic and has difficulty following my instructions. So far, she’s learned to move using the left stick and press the right trigger, but that’s about it. I’m looking for games that she could play independently, without needing me to constantly help with controls or camera adjustments.

For young kids like her, I’d suggest looking for games that only use one button. Stuff like Geometry Dash, Vampire Survivors, or Orbia could work well. You might also consider turn-based games with no time pressure, like Pokémon. These types of games are more relaxed and she can play them at her own pace! Hope you find something perfect for her!
You could also try Cuphead, but just a heads up, it might be a bit tough for her. But hey, it could also lead to some hilarious moments! Just a thought!
Ha! Cuphead is both hilarious and way too mean for someone her age, right? Lmao!
Vampire Survivors and Brotato are great options—they’re just 1-2 button games! The camera is fixed too, which might make it easier for her. Plus, they’re colorful and fun! You might need to help her with reading a bit, but once she gets into it, it could be a fun time for both of you!
Thanks a bunch! These sound really engaging for her, especially with her love for vibrant colors and characters!
Thanks for the tip! I know Geometry Dash can get pretty frustrating, but I’m thinking Pokémon could be a good fit too—just trying to figure out how to play it on Xbox since she has a tablet.
