I’m rocking a pretty solid Hunter build that has great survivability and lets me go through multiple long damage phases in our encounter. However, I’m struggling a bit when it comes to dealing decent boss damage, which is frustrating. Here’s what I’ve got set up:
– Exotic class item with Cyrtarachne and Inmost.
– Using Prismatic subclass.
– Strand super for pickup benefits and decent traversal.
– Threaded spike melee and grapple grenade for enhanced mobility.
Currently, my weapon setup includes:
– Primary: Multimach for orb generation and damage.
– Energy: Aberrant Action for heal clips and invisibility.
– Heavy: Still trying to nail this down! I’ve tested some solar options like Parasite, Dragon’s Breath, and Gjallarhorn, but nothing feels quite right.
I would love to use Anarchy, but considering the insane number of spoils it costs, that’s not happening anytime soon. I’m open to changing up my weapons if it means boosting my damage, even if it means sacrificing some survivability. Any suggestions?

For maximum damage phase length, you want to make sure you’re activating kill on the leftmost wheel when the bar resets. That’ll give you the longest damage output without waiting for cycles. Just make sure to keep your strategy flexible!
You might want to look at using Merciless with a couple of cooldown perk weapons. You only really need something with shoot-to-loot, plus some good artifact perks to cover all your needs. It could help you keep your damage consistent without needing Anarchy.
If you’re not set on crits, try switching your super. I found Storm’s Edge to be really effective since it can hit multiple targets per strike. For heavy, options like Leviathan’s Breath might be worth it for upfront damage. Plus, Parasite can work well in situations where you need to nuke smaller targets like shriekers.
Without Anarchy, I’d suggest waiting for the precision damage fix before going all-in on your setup. For now, if you’re itching to dive in, Sleeper is a solid choice for damage on bosses since it doesn’t rely on crits as heavily. Just be mindful of that precision bug; it can really throw a wrench in your plans for Hunters. Good luck!
Yeah, I agree with you both! Sleeper is definitely promising, but I’d be cautious about survivability when you switch. That’s the real trade-off.
Totally forgot about Sleeper! Definitely a good option until they sort out that precision issue. Just be careful not to rely too much on woven mail if you swap to something like Gjallarhorn.
A simple strategy is to enter kill on the far right slot repeatedly for easy damage phases. Equip a solar holster with a combination of Parasite, switching to Goldie, then back to Parasite. It might make things a bit easier, even if it feels repetitive. You won’t get the best crits but sometimes that’s better than risking a low damage phase.
Did you manage to regain your super every phase with that approach?
In my last run, I had a blast using Star-Eater with Storm’s Edge. You can land solid hits by positioning between two shriekers with the knife. Combined with Sleeper DPS, your ammo economy gets way better. Stylish execution is super fun to execute!
I’ve seen some folks make Parasite work well, but it sounds like you need to be really close to maximize damage. Did you have better luck with it in practice?
