Hey everyone! I’m looking for advice on the best strategies for beginners to complete the raid. There are tons of guides and videos out there, but I get overwhelmed by all the different skills, mods, and gear involved—stuff I’m not familiar with. Is farming for specific mods necessary, or can we clear the raid fairly without relying on glitches or cheese tactics? We want a friendly yet challenging experience, preferably finishing the raid with skill rather than just overpowered builds. If anyone could share some tips and tricks for new players, that would be amazing! Thanks in advance for your help!

The real challenge comes in stages 2, 3, and 4 where map knowledge is key—learning the drill layout, handling UGMs, guarding and activating generators, and managing where to lure enemies. These stages rely less on gear, so even players around level 50 can contribute a lot. Slowly work on building your gear for stages 1 and 5. For stage 1, mix in Troubleshooters armor and work towards Union or Vulcan sets. Weapons like Mechanics Best Friend or Dragon with crippling mods help strip shields, and Holy Fire with Pyro perks is an easy DPS weapon to use while you build your Gatling Plasma. If you have furious and pounders perks, learn to kill efficiently with the auto axe. For defense, aim to get armor with good poison resistance—Snake or Union sets are great; Funky Duds is an alternative. Start with a build focused on Nuka Dark and Coffee buffs, then slowly move to infinite VATS builds for damage.
Honestly, just dive right into the raids and keep joining teams—even if you get kicked sometimes, just keep at it. Each run gets you better gear and mods, so you’ll improve with experience. I recommend trying to get an Overeaters or Troubleshooters armor set; I’ve had good luck soloing most parts with Overeaters except for the drill stage, which usually needs at least two players. Keep some empty power armor frames ready so you can swap in newly dropped gear and mods to build full Vulcan sets eventually. Also, ask higher-level players for a Gatling Plasma (GP) weapon if you don’t have one, as it’s super effective. Bottom line: just keep doing raids, have fun, and gradually your setup and skills will improve.
Thanks! What’s a GP exactly? Appreciate all the advice, really helpful!
Raids are meant to be endgame content, so high-end gear and full perks help a lot, but you can totally do them without glitching or exploits. Start by farming a couple of armor sets like Troubleshooters and Overeaters—Union armor is also a solid option because of its poison resistance. For weapons, a Gatling Plasma works wonders for DPS. Join a team, pay attention to your surroundings, and expect to die a bit while learning the mechanics. The more raids you run, the more gear, mods, and blueprints you’ll collect, which makes subsequent runs easier. Just keep at it and you’ll get it down!
Right now I’m mixing armor—Security Service, Union, and T-65—and using flamethrower, auto axe, and some automatic rifles with onslaught and bloodied perks. Hoping these tips help us get through with a few tries!
Thanks! I actually have Union armor but haven’t played it much yet. Also, what’s Troubleshooter armor exactly? Playing in German makes some names confusing. Appreciate the help!
