Is anyone else experiencing problems with the Jump Pack since the Illuminate update? I used to really enjoy it even though some people thought it was a bit useless. Now, it feels off, like every other jump ends with my character ragdolling unexpectedly. It’s frustrating because I thought maybe they made it more challenging to use, which would have been fine by me, but it seems broken. I’m not sure how these things are usually fixed, but can’t we just go back to how it used to function? Does anyone have tips or know if this is something being addressed?

Had a similar funny mishap recently during an evacuate mission. Landed and my character tripped over a box and died out of nowhere, all while I wasn’t low on health. Got some laughs, but it’s annoying when the Jump Pack decides to have jelly legs at crucial moments. It’s still decent, but its quirks can sabotage you unexpectedly.
I actually enjoy it even with the ragdolling! Just a quick move backward before you hit the ground, and it avoids most knockdowns. Plus, if you hit a wall while ragdolling, you might get boosted over it, which is a cool trick. I like how it adds a bit of unpredictability, might as well use it to my advantage.
It’s already on the game’s “known issues” list since that update dropped. They haven’t addressed it much beyond that. Fingers crossed it hasn’t slipped through the cracks and landed on the “forgotten issues” list, because that happens way too often with little bugs like these.
Honestly, I don’t use the Jump Pack much for fast movement anymore. I stick to using it to reach higher places. For speed, I got other stratagems. The big problem I’m having is the stratagem bounce glitch, which seems to happen way more often for me than the Jump Pack’s knockdown bug. But hey, maybe I’m just lucky with the jumps!
I found that if I jump forward and pull back just before I hit the ground, it usually avoids the ragdoll shenanigans about 85% of the time. But the charm of the old Jump Pack was how you could use it flawlessly, almost 99% of the time with just a few funny slip-ups. Now, it turns comical moments into annoying issues.
