Are We Facing Concerns in PC Gaming's Future?

-

I’ve been gaming exclusively on PC for about a year now. I’ve always played on PCs and consoles, but I thought PC would be the safest long-term option. Lately, I’m having concerns about the future of PC gaming. With Nvidia’s 5000 series facing numerous issues and AMD’s 9070 priced over $650, I’m worried about rising hardware costs. Additionally, there’s talk of Nvidia shifting focus to AI, and with Microsoft pushing AI on Windows, I’m considering switching to Linux, which is an unknown for me. I’m also debating whether to grab a PS5 Pro while it’s on sale, but I’m afraid all gaming prices might rise with potential tariffs coming soon.

Honestly, every platform faces issues with corporations just trying to cash in as much as possible. The best approach is to just enjoy gaming for what it is and be adaptable to changes in the market.

I think the emergence of next-gen consoles will actually benefit PC gamers. When console prices start rising, it might push Nvidia and AMD to reconsider their own pricing strategies, especially if gamers opt to stick with consoles.

I’m not too worried about the direction of PC gaming because indie devs are still producing fantastic games. It’s just that finding them can be tough without strong marketing. The big studios are getting more corporate, but the indie scene is thriving.

Totally! The indie games often offer more creativity and innovation than some big-budget releases nowadays.

The only major concern for PC gaming is the constant price hikes. I’ve noticed people upgrading less frequently these days, simply because the costs are getting ridiculous. It might be best to stick with what we have for a while.

I think the 30 and 40 series cards can still hold up for a while. Plus, AMD has been releasing some solid cards lately!

I’m not worried about PC itself, but the hardware pricing is a bit absurd. I was looking to upgrade from my 2080ti, but prices are so high that it’s just not worth it right now. I’d rather wait and see how things unfold.

Yeah, I’m sticking with my setup for now too. There’s way too many games to play without needing to chase the latest hardware.
