Hey everyone! As a new player diving into Assassin’s Creed Unity for the first time, I’ve been experiencing some major frustrations with the controls, especially coming off from playing Rogue. It feels like the combat in Unity punishes you way harsher than any of the previous games. Whenever I try to parry when the indicator turns yellow, Arno just stands there and gets hit instead. I’m pulling my hair out trying to complete missions! I can sneak around fine, but when I want to engage, I feel totally ineffective. Plus, I take so much damage from just one hit. I know I’m still leveling up, but it just doesn’t make sense to me. I’ve mastered button inputs in other games like Until Dawn and Breath of the Wild, so I don’t know what’s going wrong here. Is there any advice you can share?

Yeah, I’ve noticed similar things. It seems like you’re not able to parry when you’re at low health, and that’s where Unity’s combat can feel pretty rough. Try focusing on timing your button presses and don’t rush into groups of enemies unless you’re ready for it. Also, avoid higher-level zones early on. Healing mid-combat can save you too!
I totally get where you’re coming from! Unity’s combat requires some finesse that Rogue doesn’t really demand. Dive into smoke bombs if things get hectic. They can really turn a combat scenario in your favor, especially when shoved into tight spots. Remember to position yourself well and avoid clutter that can mess up your fighting.
Exactly! Just grab some basic gear before jumping into tougher territories.
