I’ve been digging into the lore and I’m curious if there are any notable half-Eldar, half-human characters in the Warhammer universe. In the older lore, it was hinted that many Eldar corsairs ended up with human partners, leading to children being raised alone or abandoned. So, did any such characters end up becoming part of the canon, even if they were just minor figures?

Half-Eldar used to exist, but they’ve pretty much been retconned from the current lore. Games Workshop isn’t really focusing on them anymore. We do have a couple of mentions though—like the pirate warlord Kaarja Salombar, who supposedly had some Aeldari ancestry, and ‘Ael Wyntor,’ a genetic experiment created by Malcador that had both Aeldari and human traits.
The idea of half-Eldar seems pretty far-fetched given the complexity of the Eldar DNA. It’s a bit like trying to create a half-gorilla, which we know is impossible despite the shared DNA. However, Haemonculi have been known to do some crazy stuff, like creating hybrids and turning Aeldari into basic humans as a punishment. But really, any half-Eldar characters now mostly fall into the category of tragic experiments.
One of the oldest examples is Illiyan Nastase, who was the Chief Librarian of the Ultramarines. But like many early characters, he’s been largely overlooked in recent lore. Nowadays, any half-Eldar figures tend to be unexpected experiments rather than actual mixed-species individuals. For a more recent one, there’s Winters from ‘The Buried Dagger,’ who was a clone with a mix of Eldar and human characteristics, but his story ended in tragedy too.
