Are there any games focused on exploring ruins and uncovering secrets?

-

I’m looking for games or modules that emphasize exploring ancient ruins and uncovering lost secrets, similar to Tomb of Annihilation but with less emphasis on horror and danger. I want something that really engages me in problem-solving and piecing together clues while navigating a wide, poorly mapped area. I’m open to different systems, just mentioned DnD since I’m familiar with it.

You should definitely check out Earthdawn! It’s all about exploring ancient places and dealing with the mysteries of the past. Symbaroum is another solid option, where one of the main adventure paths involves delving into the ruins of an old civilization. I’ve heard great things about it too!

Thank you, I will check them out!

Can confirm Symbaroum is good for this.

Have you considered the Dark Crystal RPG? It’s kind of old school but looks to be a fun experience exploring a unique world. Also, the original Blue Planet RPG is another pick that focuses on exploring alien worlds which could scratch that exploratory itch!

Thank you, I haven’t heard of either of these before!
