One thing I liked about Minecraft is that there were boss fights and some sort of end game goal to work toward if you didn’t want to go crazy with the building. Is there anything like that in Astroneer?

There aren’t any bosses in Astroneer. There isn’t much in the terms of combat at all. There are some end game elements though. If you have discovered those weird looking purple buildings on the surface of the planet, you should look more into activating these and maybe dig to the centre of the planet?
