Hey everyone! This is my first post here! A couple of months ago, I sold my PS5 and did a factory reset for the buyer. I used an external hard drive to store my game data and save files. Recently, I downloaded God of War: Ragnarok (GOWR) onto my sibling’s PS4 from that hard drive, but when I loaded the game, I only saw my save files from when I played on the PS4, not those from my PS5. Does this mean all those hours of gameplay and progress are gone? If I buy another PS5 in the future, will my PS5 save files still be there considering the game versions are different? Any tips on how I can retrieve those saves would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Yeah, you’ll definitely need to check your PS Plus cloud storage if you can access a PS5 again. Just make sure you had auto-upload turned on, which it sounds like you did. If so, those PS5 saves should still be retrievable when you get a new console later on!
It sounds like you were playing the PS5 version of GOWR. Unfortunately, you can’t import save files from the PS5 version to the PS4. You can only transfer PS4 saves up to PS5 for compatible games. Without access to a PS5, though, you can’t check the cloud saves. If you had auto-upload enabled on PS Plus, they should still be there, so you’ve got a chance!
Got it, thanks for clarifying! So, if I get a PS5 again, there’s a possibility I can retrieve those PS5 save files, right? That would be a relief!
Thanks for the reassurance! It’s good to know there might still be hope for my progress!
