I’m trying to figure out if it’s really worth it to spend close to $1000 on a premium motherboard like the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z890 EXTREME, or if a more budget-friendly option like the MSI MAG Z890 Tomahawk or GIGABYTE Z890 AORUS Elite is sufficient for regular gaming. Also, is upgrading from the GIGABYTE Z890 AORUS Elite to the GIGABYTE Z890 AORUS Master worth the cost?

Honestly, people tend to throw money at motherboards filled with features they might never use. Just check the spec sheet and see if it meets your needs. If it does, go for it! Of course, if you’re keen on aesthetics, that’s another story, but I would steer clear of Gigabyte.
You can’t go wrong with the Asrock Z890 Taichi Aqua—it’s an absolute beast of a motherboard! Just be prepared for it to be more than you may need unless you’re going full throttle with your build.
I’ve been going through the same dilemma! I’m considering options like the ASUS TUF, the Tomahawk, or the AORUS Elite. I’ve even picked up an Asrock Phantom Gaming Lightning, but I’m worried it’s too tall for my upcoming GPU (the Gigabyte 5070 Ti, which is a hefty 70mm thick!). Honestly, spending $1000 seems excessive unless you’re really into overclocking or tweaking settings all the time. For most gamers, a B860 with PCIe 5.0 would suffice, but I still want a Z890 board. The AORUS Elite seems like a solid deal for the money. The AORUS Master feels overkill unless you’re pushing the limits. 😅
I actually found a Z890 motherboard for under $200! Isn’t that a better choice than going with a B860?
Why do you say to avoid Gigabyte? I’ve read good things about the AORUS Elite!
