Hey everyone! I’ve been trying out Yareli now that her prime version is released, and I’m thinking about subsuming Roar in place of her third ability, Aquablades. I’m curious if it’s actually worth it. Are Aquablades effective, or should I look for better alternatives?

I opted to subsume over her third ability too—compared to her other skills, Aquablades can feel underwhelming.
Keep in mind that if you ride Merulina without the Loyal Merulina augment, casting Helminth abilities isn’t possible while in K-Drive mode. I generally like to keep Aquablades equipped since they can stagger enemies and deal consistent chip damage. The damage may not be amazing without some armor stripping, though. Fun fact: you can throw Aquablades like shurikens if you tap the ability again, which can fit interesting playstyles!
Her third ability is definitely a viable subsume option. Some players find it okay at lower levels, but you might have to work a bit to maximize damage in tougher content. Personally, I’d lean towards subsuming over it.
If you plan to use Merulina, consider subsuming abilities like Gloom, Dispensary, or even Roar with a focus on duration. This lets you keep buffs active while on Merulina. Roar works well if you’re using her as a support weapon platform, requiring only occasional jumps to cast!
If you’re not focusing on her third ability, Roar is a solid option to subsume. Just a heads up though, if you plan to ride Merulina (her second ability), you won’t be able to use any Helminth abilities while doing so, which is something to consider.
Exactly! It’s especially great because some weapons reload while throwing the shuriken, so you avoid those awkward downtimes. Also, it’s handy if you’re using ammo-greedy weapons.
