Hey everyone! I’m currently using an Acer Nitro laptop with an Intel i5-11400H and an RTX 3050 (4GB). I’m contemplating switching to a desktop setup, but I need to keep costs low. I’ve noticed a lack of discussions about performance with APUs, especially for World of Warcraft. I want to avoid the stuttering and low frame rates (about 17 to 24 fps on low settings during raid bosses) that I’m experiencing now. I even lock my FPS at 36 to try and stabilize the game, but it’s not ideal. Can anyone share their experiences or tips for playing WoW without a discrete GPU?

It’s frustrating that people tend to downvote questions about APU performance without giving any real advice. From what I’ve seen, though, many players just jump straight to recommending high-end CPUs like the X3D variants when the original question is about budget setups. It’s a shame because APUs can actually perform decently if you’re smart about settings and expectations.
Totally get your pain, man! The community often overlooks APUs when discussing performance. The X3D chips are overhyped—sure, they score well in synthetic benchmarks, but that doesn’t help those of us looking to game at reasonable costs. You might want to check out some dedicated APU benchmarks for WoW specifically. That could guide your purchase better.
