Hey everyone! I recently played The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remastered on my desktop running Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, and I’m facing some performance issues. Even with the latest drivers, the game struggles to run smoothly at max settings in 1080p, averaging around 32 FPS and peaking at 38-39 FPS. I’ve also experienced some crashes now and then. Here’s my setup: Ryzen 7 3700x, 24GB DDR4 2400MHz, and an RTX 4090. I’ve checked ProtonDB, but I haven’t found any specific configuration suggestions for Oblivion. Has anyone else played it on Ubuntu? Any tweaks you can recommend to boost performance?

It sounds like your memory speed could be a bottleneck. Have you checked if the XMP profile is enabled? That could help you get more out of your RAM.
Running on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS might be the issue here. I’m on a different distro and get around 100 FPS in the open world with a 7800 XT and Ryzen 7 7700. You might want to consider trying a different OS or some tweaks specific to Ubuntu.
I did look into it, and it turns out my memory is set to 3200MHz!
