I’m curious if anyone has figured out how to make GTA Online work on Linux. My friends and I are eager to dive back in with all the GTA 6 buzz, but every time I launch Online, Battleye kicks me out of the lobby. I’ve tried switching the Proton version and using the Proton Battleye compatibility tool on Steam, but nothing seems to help. Based on what I’ve read, there seems to be no straightforward solution, but I’m hoping someone out there has cracked the code!

Just hang tight for now! If Rockstar sees enough demand, they might eventually work on making it more accessible for Linux users, but it could take a while.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a reliable way to get GTA Online working on Linux right now. Rockstar hasn’t enabled BattlEye support for Linux systems yet, which is causing the major issues you’re facing.
If you’re feeling adventurous and willing to risk a ban, there are some forums like Unknown Cheats where you might find ways to bypass the anti-cheat. Just be aware this could get you in trouble!
GTA Online just doesn’t support Linux. If you want to get in on that action, you’ll need to switch to Windows or play on a console.
I had a similar issue trying to get GTA V Enhanced working on Linux. Disabling BattlEye in the Rockstar launcher didn’t help me either, even with ProtonDB saying it should work. It’s frustrating!
