I’m on the hunt for some great RPGs that are similar to games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance or Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. Here are what I’m looking for: open world, RPG elements, endless mining, and the ability to start as a nobody and rise to power and fame. I prefer medieval settings, but it’s not a strict requirement. I usually enjoy indie games and older AAA titles more, but I’m open to newer releases too. I’ve already played through Fable, New Vegas, The Witcher series, Mass Effect, Detroit: Become Human, and Baldur’s Gate. Not really a fan of the Dragon Age series for some reason. I’m also interested in unique styles like “The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante” or “Kill the Princess,” although I’m not necessarily looking for those games specifically, I just liked their hand-drawn style. So, any suggestions?

Have you checked out Gothic or its sequels like Risen and Elex? They’ve got that medieval RPG feel you’re looking for, with lots of depth to the characters and story!
You might want to check out Medieval Dynasty. It doesn’t hit all your points perfectly, but it has great building and crafting mechanics that might scratch that RPG itch for you.
For a more strategic take, give Crusader Kings 3 a go. You start as a noble, but it has the same feel of building up from nothing and influencing the game world, even if it’s a different kind of experience.
If you haven’t tried it yet, definitely dive into the Elder Scrolls series. It’s pretty similar to The Witcher but has its own lore and quests that might just hook you in!
Kenshi is definitely worth a look! You start as a nobody in a pretty vast open world, and you can mold your journey however you want. It’s a bit unconventional, but it has a unique charm that’s hard to find in other games.
Totally agree! Kenshi is one of a kind. It’s both challenging and rewarding; you’ll love it!
