I’m looking for a game that’s like a combination of Escape from Tarkov and a survival game. The idea is a first-person PvE extraction game where you not only bring back loot for yourself, but it also helps rebuild a settlement with other survivors. Think of mixing bandits and zombies with exploration in an environment where the loot helps set up shops like a weaponsmith so you can upgrade your gear. Also, controller support is a must since I’m a controller main. I’ve played Zero Sievert, which was nice but in a top-down pixel form, and I’d love to see an Unreal5 version of something similar. I know that Escape from Tarkov has a single-player PvE option now, but it lacks controller support. Any suggestions?

I’ve been toying with a similar concept for a while, aiming for a sci-fi angle rather than an apocalyptic one. Something modeled around Tron, with a survival twist. I think your idea could be really fun; mixing extraction gameplay with the base-building aspect would add some depth. Even if it’s not zombie-themed, there’s so much room for creativity, maybe with aliens or some other sci-fi threat!
Your idea kind of reminds me of a multiplayer take on State of Decay. Taking an extraction shooter and blending it with a game like SoD2 is intriguing. It doesn’t necessarily need to be multiplayer; co-op would suffice. I agree that you don’t need to stick with zombies; we have plenty of those already. Other enemies, even from outer space, could shake things up.
I was really hoping Naughty Dog would have completed the Last of Us 2 multiplayer, as it sounded similar to what you’re describing. It aimed to be open-world and allowed you to use gathered resources for base building and gear upgrades. Unfortunately, the development seems to have stalled, which is a shame since it sounded like a perfect fit for what you’re looking for.
Hey, have you heard of Prey: Mooncrash? It might not have settlement building, but it ticks a few other boxes for you. It’s a first-person, PvE game where extracting different characters is the goal. The more you explore, the better gear you unlock for future runs. It could offer a temporary fix until a game matching your description comes out.
