I’ve been really struggling to find a Linux equivalent for Lossless Scaling, especially after wiping out my Windows setup. I’ve seen how well it boosts performance in games like Arma 3, especially since it’s limited to 60fps due to server constraints, and I want to replicate that experience in Linux. I’ve tried everything to get Lossless Scaling working here, even inside a container, but nothing has worked so far. Are there any alternatives or workarounds for this? Really hoping to stick with Linux, but LSFG3 feels like the only thing I’m missing right now!

I share your surprise that there’s no real equivalent to Lossless Scaling on Linux yet. It seems like it’s quite a complex feature to implement, especially for basic tasks like watching videos or playing Proton games, which makes things tricky. Hopefully, we’ll see something similar in the future!
You can explore using Optiscaler with the latest Nightly Builds (7.7 and newer). It’s not quite as flexible as Lossless Scaling, but it can hijack most modern upscaling technologies like DLSS, FSR, or XeSS and enable Frame Gen 2X. It’s worth giving it a shot if you’re looking to improve performance in newer games!
Unfortunately, Lossless Scaling isn’t compatible with Linux at this time, and there’s no official word on any plans to change that. You might want to check out the FSR3FG mod that was released recently; it allows you to tweak some settings that might help. If you’re on a Steam Deck, you can install Decky Loader on your desktop and access the mod after launching Steam in BP mod. I used it with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and found it to be pretty effective!
Just keep in mind that this mainly swaps out DLSS for FSR, so you’ll need games that support these features already. It’s not a direct replacement for Lossless Scaling, which works across any windowed Windows app.
