I’ve been playing Minecraft on Bedrock since version 1.16-17 and while I’m good at coming up with creative ideas for mega-projects, I often lack the patience to see them through, especially when things go wrong. My PvP skills are decent, but I sometimes find myself bored or feeling like I can’t achieve anything. I’ve noticed a lot of changes in my redstone capabilities, but I still tend to die in some really silly ways. I play on a Realm with friends who even built graves for me in every world due to my frequent mishaps (like drowning in peaceful mode—please don’t judge!).
I feel like some of it might be due to issues with Bedrock itself: the first world got corrupted, I keep running into bugs, and sometimes it feels like mobs just zero in on me for no reason (okay, not really a valid complaint, but it does feel that way). Now that I recently got Java, I’m excited to see if that changes my luck. Every time I try to make progress, it seems like something blows up my farms, so I’ve started building wall perimeters to protect them. I often worry that whatever I build will be destroyed or taken down, which makes me hesitant to invest time and materials into building anything.
I’ve also started making backup tools and armor, but dying continuously really takes a toll on my motivation. Why does it take so long to build farms? I really want to improve in all aspects of the game, especially just staying alive. Any thoughts on how to get better?

Backup tools are definitely helpful! Make sure to light up your area to prevent mobs from spawning, especially near your farms. One-person sleep can help too; that way, you can skip the night even if other players are busy. It’ll keep your farming safe from any night-time disasters.
About your third point—mobs aren’t targeting you specifically! They tend to aggro the first player they see and stick to that target until either you’re out of range or their line of sight’s broken. If they’re always coming for you, maybe you’re just charging into battle too quickly while your friends are lagging behind?
Honestly, it sounds like you might need to be a little more cautious! How are creepers getting to your farms? Placing torches around your base is essential to keep them away. When I explore caves, I set up a mini base with all my essentials. That way, if I do die, I can quickly gear up and get back to collecting my stuff without losing too much. Once you get better gear, you’ll feel more confident tackling the dangers of the game!
You just gotta practice! Try watching some YouTubers for tips and tricks that might help you with strategies. Also, keep some Shulkers in your Ender Chest for carrying backup supplies and important items. Planning your actions can really make a difference, too. Don’t be afraid to take it slow and mix things up each session so you don’t get bored. I usually switch between adventuring, crafting, and building—it really keeps the game fresh! Don’t forget to take breaks when needed; coming back after a few days can really revitalize your motivation.
