Am I Missing Something in the Resident Evil HD Remake?

-

I just started playing the Resident Evil HD remake and I’m feeling really stuck. It seems like every door I try is either locked or needs an emblem. I’m currently in the dining area, and I feel like everyone else has disappeared! I’m just wandering up and down stairs without finding a way to progress. I found a shield icon in the dining hall, but I have no idea where to use it. Honestly, if I had played this as a kid, I would have probably quit right away, and I can totally see why people would give up on this game!

You’re not alone! Just focus on the doors that aren’t locked for now, and come back to the locked ones after you find a key. You’ll pick up items that might seem useless at first, so just store them until you know what to do with them. Also, check your map – it shows which doors are locked or unlocked and highlights rooms that still have items in them.

I’ve tried that too but still can’t find anything! Maybe I’m just really dense.

Make sure to check out your map for rooms you haven’t explored yet. There’s an arrow you can grab from the second-floor hallway with that mirror and some zombies. If there’s an item you don’t know how to use, give it a good look in your inventory. You might find a hidden function by inspecting it closely.

OMG, you just saved me! Inspecting items actually helped me figure it out!

You’re definitely not stupid! This game is tricky and has a different logic from most other games. I remember picking it up as a kid and quitting when I realized it wasn’t just about shooting zombies. It’s designed for a mature audience, so it can be tough. Make sure to use your map; grey doors are open and red doors are locked. Explore all the grey doors and search red rooms thoroughly. Also, examine every item you collect – some of them can hide other items! Don’t forget to read the notes you find; they usually contain helpful hints.
