I accidentally broke the fan connector on my PS5 while trying to clean it, and now the fan is completely disconnected from the motherboard. I’m worried I might have ruined my console! Is this fixable or are there any workarounds you guys would recommend?

Yeah, it can definitely be fixed, but it usually requires special tools and expertise. I recommend looking for a repair shop near you that can handle it; costs might be on the higher side but it’s worth it for a good job.
Honestly, you don’t even need to unplug the fan for cleaning. Just pull it out gently and clean it while it’s still connected. I’ve learned that lesson the hard way too!
I know right? I wish I’d realized that before messing mine up. Lesson learned, I guess!
This just shows why it’s best to leave your console alone unless absolutely necessary. It’s super easy to mess up! Good luck, and make sure you have the right tools if you attempt it yourself.
I get that but sometimes cleaning can help with overheating issues, especially with PS5s!
You could honestly just bring it to a local game repair shop. They’ll charge a bit, but it shouldn’t be a huge deal if the damage isn’t extensive. You might just end up paying around $70-$90.
Glad to hear you found a reliable shop! Always better to get it done properly.

I saw some YouTube videos explaining how to resolder it yourself, but that sounds pretty advanced. Maybe best to leave it to the pros.
