Hey everyone, I’m primarily a destroyer main but I’m looking to dive deeper into cruiser gameplay. I’ve heard that Russian cruisers are pretty solid, but with all the recent changes in the meta, I need some guidance. Should I go for the A.Nevsky line or the Petro line? What are the pros and cons of each? Thanks for your insights!

When it comes to armor, both cruisers are pretty similar, but Petro has a bit of an edge. You can even show broadside to a battleship and be safer with Petro. With Nevsky, you’ve got to be careful, as it can go down quickly if you’re not on your toes. Both can bow tank if needed, but Nevsky needs skill to avoid early deaths in games. Petro can kind of just float along and get away with things!
Right? Sometimes easy mode gets boring. It’s thrilling to take risks!
If you enjoy pushing aggressively, go with Petro! But if you’re looking for a support/kiting style, Nevsky’s the way to go. Both can handle DD threats, but Petro’s got the accuracy and Nevsky has a quicker rate of fire. So really, it depends on what playstyle you prefer.
Honestly, I think Petro still stands out as one of the best Tier 10 cruisers out there. It just has a well-balanced build that’s hard to beat! Plus that radar is really handy!
Honestly, Petro might be technically better, but I find Nevsky way more enjoyable to play. Petro can feel a bit dull at times!
Totally agree with you on the Nevsky part. Petro is really quite boring to play.
What makes you say it’s boring though? I thought it had great radar and decent fire rate.
Both ships have their strengths, but it really comes down to playstyle. Petro is super tanky, with accurate guns effective up to 11 km, making it great for holding defensive positions. It’s brilliant at bullying enemy DDs as well. On the flipside, Nevsky plays well at longer ranges with decent DPM and really shines against foes when you use its radar. However, it’s less durable and can be more challenging to survive if you get too close. Petro is solid for ranked battles where you need area control, while Nevsky feels better for random matches due to its range. Just be mindful of season bans since they change often and can affect your strategy.
Thanks for clarifying! Your detailed breakdown helps a lot.
Right? It’s always good to know the ‘why’ behind the choices!
Interesting point! I feel like that makes Nevsky require more skill overall.
