Paldea is a region in the Pokemon franchise and is the setting for the ninth generation of Pokemon games, including Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. It has various landscapes ranging from snowy mountains to barren plains and wooded forests all of which cater to a large selection of Pokemon that you can catch.
In Paldea the player is given more flexibility in which order they tackle the various gym leaders and points of interest in the area. On top of the usual gym leaders, players will also need to take on leaders of team star who have several bases in the region.
The region of Paldea in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is loosely based on the real-world Iberian Peninsula with influence taken for the locations, map and city names.
