Fairy-type Pokémon are one of the 18 different types of Pokémon in the Pokémon franchise. These Pokémon are often based on fairies, magical creatures, and mythical beings. They are known for their healing abilities and support moves, as well as their ability to resist Dragon-type moves. Fairy-type Pokémon were introduced in the sixth generation of games, starting with Pokemon X and Y, and are considered as a new type addition. Fairy-type Pokémon are also known for their resistance to Dragon-type moves, but are weak against Steel-type moves. Fairy-types are super effective against Dragon and Fighting types, but weak against Steel and Poison types. Some well-known Fairy-type Pokémon include Clefairy, Togekiss and Sylveon.
