Pokemon Strengths & Weaknesses

Pokemon Strengths & Weaknesses

If you are any way familiar with the Pokemon franchise, you will be aware that all Pokemon have different strengths and weaknesses. For a good majority of Pokemon types, the strength and weakness will be quite obvious and based on nature. For example, fire Pokemon are weak against water Pokemon. Water extinguishes fire so this makes sense. Fire pokemon are strong against Ice because heat melts ice.

There are some other Pokemon though that are more difficult to relate to nature. What are psychic pokemon weak against or what about rock? There is no paper Pokemon type so figuring this part out can be a little more difficult. This page should be your one stop shop to understanding Pokemon strengths and weaknesses.

There is no simple formula to help you quickly figure out what the strongest Pokemon type is to use against another. Since some Pokemon have two types, they may have extra defense against a Pokemon even when the other type is weak against it. To make this a little easier, you can simply look up your favorite Pokemon using the tool below. Select the Pokemon you want from the dropdown and you will be able to find out the strengths that this Pokemon has. This makes it super simple to figure out what types it is going to be strong against in combat.

Pokemon Weaknesses

Just like how all Pokemon have strengths they also have weaknesses. You won’t last long if you use your Charizard against a Blastoise. It is important to know that even when you have a high level Pokemon that might be on its third evolution, it is still weak against certain Pokemon types and you may find yourself getting beaten up quite easily in combat by a Pokemon that is a lot weaker looking than your beloved.

The best way to get a handle on Pokemon weaknesses is to use the tool below. This lookup will allow you to search for a specific Pokemon. Once you find it, select the name from the dropdown and you will see a breakdown of all the strengths and weaknesses that this particular Pokemon has. This will help you determine whether this Pokemon is going to be a strong fit for you in combat or not.
