Pokemon Strength Lookup Tool

pokemon strength lookup

Every Pokemon is going to have one or more types. Each type has strengths and weaknesses when fighting against other Pokemon types. A common example is that a fire pokemon is weak when fighting against water. Fire Pokemon are strong against Ice. This is obvious to most as fire melts ice and water extinguishes ice.

Many Pokemon types are quite obvious to guess but when it comes to the more unusual elemental types like rock and bug, it can be a little more tricky to guess what types are strong or weak against others.

If you have a favorite Pokemon in your roster or are looking to select 6 Pokemon and want to make sure you have all of your basis covered, the lookup tool below will help you out. Search for a Pokemon and it will tell you everything you need to know about that Pokemon’s combat strengths to help you figure out when to use that Pokemon in combat.

Enter the name of a Pokémon into the search box below to find out about strength and weaknesses.

Generally speaking, when a Pokemon is strong against another type, for example, water being strong against fire, the attacking Pokemon will have double damage. When the attacking Pokemon is weak to the other type, for example, fire attacking water, you will do half damage.

If you are using an exceptionally strong Pokemon, a Charizard that is high level against a very level, first evolution water Pokemon. You will more than likely find that you can defeat this Pokemon with a single hit. Even with a half-damage debuff, the Charizard is so strong that half its damage is still enough to defeat weak Pokemon.

If looking up a specific Pokemon is not what you are looking for, check out the complete Pokemon strength and weakness guide that will cover everything you need to know about the different Pokemon types and where and when to use each in combat.
