I have enjoyed DayZ, but it feels like it is just going to stay stuck in early access forever and never actually become a completed game. Since the game was massively hyped, there must be some other studios with more money who have decided to rob the idea and make their own version of DayZ. Can anyone suggest some games like DayZ that are a little more…completed or at least have some proper potential to progress rather than staying stuck in the mud.
The State of Decay games are the same kinda thing. You must scavenge buildings and stuff in order to survive the zombie apocalypse. There is no multiplayer element to it though, its an offline game.
The new Z is an open world sandbox game with a focus on survival. It has zombies, is free to play and has a bunch of other PvP game modes. Seems like they tried to clone DayZ and then add some new stuff to it to make it different.
There is also no multiplayer support for Dying Light, but it implements the same survival kind of thing. Zombies have taken over and you are taking shelter in a hotel in the middle of the city. You must venture out during the day for supplies and make it back before night (or just risk being out at night when all the scary zombies wake up.)
There is more of a focus on building structures and stuff, but Rust is in the same boat. Survival isnt as strict and hardcore, its more of a Minecraft level of survival than anything.
