Assassin’s Creed got off to a strong start with Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima revealing his love for the game. Since then the game has had an incredible amount of titles have been released in the franchise touching upon all of the greatest events and civilizations in history.
I love the games in the Assassin’s Creed series. The stealth, the looting and the missions in general are all so much fun. Are there any other interesting games like Assassin’s Creed out there?
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Metal Gear Solid was definitely an inspiration when it came to Assassin's Creed. I remember Hideo Kojima making a big deal about how much he loved it. Pretty sure the outfit from the first Assassin's Creed game was available in Metal Gear Solid 4. You can't go climbing buildings in MGS, but it really focussesu00a0 heavily on the stealth aspects and it does it really well.u00a0
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
Middle-earth: Shadow of War
There are 2 games so far that have been released in the Middle-Earth series. These games are almost the same as Assassin's Creed games, but with a Lord of the Rings coat of paint. You can climb up almost any building, leap off ledged to assassinate enemies, huge focus on stealth and the character progressions are also very similar. If you like Lord of the Rings and want something similar to Assassin's Creed than this is the game to play for sure.
Batman: Arkham Knight
The new Arkham Batman games are very stealth focussed without being as strict as they are in Metal Gear Solid. Rather than climbing everything, you have some gadgets to help you get around the place, but they are open world games (at least the last 2 were) where you can run around the city, stealth kill some enemies and then zip off into the shadows. Obviously, being based in Arkham City, there are not going to be many comparisons with the stories and settings, but the gameplay and stealth mechanics are very similar between both games.
