Whether you’re a seasoned puzzle solver seeking a quick refresher or a novice player looking for a detailed run-down, this guide will provide all the resources you need to escape the Manufacturing puzzle room successfully. Let’s dive in!
Step 1: Collect Notes and Tools
- Turn to your right and pick up the two notes on the floor: QUEST FILE: NOTE 3 (MANUFACTURING) and QUEST FILE: NOTE 2 (MANUFACTURING).
- Examine the lathe to the right and pick up the screwdriver head.
- Turn further right and examine the other lathe to pick up wire cutters.
- Examine the table and pick up everything on it. Collect QUEST FILE: BLUEPRINT 3 (MANUFACTURING), QUEST FILE: BLUEPRINT 2 (MANUFACTURING), screwdriver grip, a stun gun, QUEST FILE: NOTE 1 (MANUFACTURING), and QUEST FILE: BLUEPRINT 1 (MANUFACTURING).
Step 2: Create a Screwdriver and Interact with Volt Machine
- Select items and combine the screwdriver head and screwdriver grip together.
- Examine the volt machine. Equip the stun gun and use NOTE 1 to determine the order to touch the stun gun to the six contacts, from left to right: 1, 5, 4, 2, 6, 3.
Step 3: Talk to Robots and Determine Wire Colors
- Talk to each of the robots to learn their names, and get hints. From left to right, they are Alex, Betty, and Charley.
- Use NOTE 2 and NOTE 3 to figure out which color represents each robot. Then use BLUEPRINT 1 and BLUEPRINT 2 to determine which color wire to cut when instructed to “Cut Betty” or “Cut Charley”: Alex is white, Betty is red, and Charley is blue. “Cut Betty” means cut the red wire, and “Cut Charley” means cut the blue wire.
Step 4: Disarm the Detonation Device
- Examine the white tube to the right of the robots. Read the note underneath the buttons.
- Press the black button to set the timer. (If it doesn’t set, talk to Betty again, then go back to the tube.)
- Examine the detonation device.
- Blueprint 1 indicates that you should “Cut Betty”. Touch the red wire to cut it.
- Touch the screws on the plate over the wires to remove the device. Then touch the screws in each corner to remove the plate.
- At this point, Alex will automatically give you QUEST FILE: ALEX’S NOTE (MANUFACTURING).
- Go back to the detonation device. Unscrew the following screws in this specific order: the third screw from the top on the left, the top screw on the left, the top screw on the right, and then the middle screw on the right. Everything else can be removed in any order.
- Ignore Betty and examine the detonation device again. The device here matches the design in BLUEPRINT 2, which tells you to “Cut Charley”. Cut the blue wire.
- Remove the bottom two screws, then the top two screws to take off the next plate.
- ALEX’S NOTE tells you the final wire you need to cut: the red one. This one has a timer, so don’t hang around.
Decision Game: The Bomb
- Choose to run away.
By following these steps, you have now successfully completed the Manufacturing puzzle room in Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma and seen D-END:1, symbolized by the biohazard symbol on your save file. But what would have happened if Q-Team had injected Radical-6?
Zero Time Dilemma Manufacturing Room FAQ
How do I disarm the detonation device in the Manufacturing room?
To disarm the detonation device, examine it and follow the instructions from Blueprint 1 and “Cut Betty”, which means cut the red wire. Remove the screws to take off the cover of the device. You will receive Quest File: Alex’s Note from Alex. Unscrew the tricky screws in a specific order (third screw from the top on the left, top screw on the left, top screw on the right, and then the middle screw on the right), then remove the rest in any order. Once again, examine the device and follow Blueprint 2 to “Cut Charley”, which means cut the blue wire. Take off the next plate by removing the bottom two screws, then the top two. Finally, Alex’s Note tells you to cut the last wire, the red one. Remember that this has a timer.
How do I find and use the items in the Manufacturing room?
As you first enter the room, turn to your right to find two notes and a screwdriver head. There are also wire cutters on another lathe and plenty of items on the table including a stun gun, a screwdriver grip, and more notes and blueprints. You’ll need to select and combine the screwdriver head and screwdriver grip together to create a usable tool. You’ll use the stun gun and the notes to puzzle out the correct order to interact with the volt machine.
How do I work out the color of the wires for each robot in the Manufacturing room?
After speaking with each robot (Alex, Betty, and Charley), you can use NOTE 2 and NOTE 3 to figure out which color represents which robot. Alex is white, Betty is red, and Charley is blue. This means that “Cut Betty” means cut the red wire and “Cut Charley” means cut the blue wire.
What should I do with the black button and the white tube in the Manufacturing room?
Near the robots, you will find a white tube. You will need to press the black button to set its timer. If the timer does not set, speak to Betty again and then return to the tube.
How do I pass the Decision Game: The Bomb in the Manufacturing room?
When facing the Decision Game: The Bomb, choose to run away. This will allow you to complete the Manufacturing puzzle room.
