Sometimes if I get a good dweller from a lunch or I want to throw away one of the bad one’s i have in my vault. I have to either wait until they die or send them out the the wasteland to die. Is there a better way to do this?

If you drag the dweller out of the vault in the same way that you would send them out to explore you will have an option to evict them. Click on the red button and it forces them to leave.
