How Do You Use The Shrine Sensor?

I have obtained the shrine sensor and it beeps every now and then, but not all the time. I have tried to trigger it to find the nearest shrine, but it doesn’t work. How do i trigger the shrine sensor to show me where the nearest shrine is?

The shrine sensor is a passive item. It is always enabled, unless you disable it. It works like a hot and cold indicator, but only when you are within range. If you are miles from a shrine then it will not beep because there is no nearby shrine. Once you get closer to a shrine it will beep slowly. Move around the area and the beeping will get faster. This means you are getting closer to the shrine
