The much-anticipated demo of Death Howl is slated for release on Monday, January 20th, and will be available for gamers to explore on Steam. Death Howl’s gameplay is defined by its grid-based, turn-driven combat that demands careful tactical planning. Players will have the opportunity to craft and customize decks, encounter enigmatic spirits, and evolve their strategies with the aid of shamanic totems. This focus on strategic combat ensures a layered and dynamic gaming experience.

Beyond the structured battles, the game promises an expansive world exploration experience. Players will transition from run-based gameplay to explore open-world biomes like the haunting Forest of Howling Shadows and the surreal Meadows of Delusion. These diverse environments offer new cards and mechanics, challenging players to adapt to ever-changing landscapes and encounters.

The richly woven narrative of Death Howl is set against a backdrop of ancient spiritual lore, touching universal themes of love and loss. It’s a tale carefully crafted by the small yet passionate team at The Outer Zone, a Copenhagen-based trio consisting of Malte Burup, Rasmus Nilsson, and Lasse Sommer.

The full release of Death Howl is projected for PC in 2025, a timeline supported by the backing of the Danish Film Institute’s – The Games Scheme. For those eager to delve into this ethereal journey, the demo is readily accessible on platforms like Steam and GOG.
